Like many Black people in the midwest, he has family ties in the south. His grandparents migrated to Madison from family farms in rural Mississippi during a great migration for factory jobs. Alex has had a passion for growing food since he was in elementary school and was able to turn that passion into Booker Botanicals in 2020.\nIn addition to selling farm fresh produce that he grows in Black earth, Alex loves working with the community and doing cooking and gardening workshops. He believes that our healing starts by reconnecting to the earth and wants to help facilitate that process with as many people as possible. \n \n     \n\n\n
